Javon Belcher and Fatherless Males

Last night, Bob Costas made an asinine comment.  This orgy of 'root-causeism' inspired me to look something up.  It checked out.

Javon Belcher grew up without a father.

It's tragic, but it's not a surprise.

Absentee fatherism, something that didn't exist prior to the 1960's, has predictable consequences.

Javon Belcher's actions were inexcusable and Javon Belcher alone is responsible for Javon Belcher's actions.  Growing up without a father, however, couldn't have helped.  It certainly makes more sense than blaming guns.
