Apparently so, according to the University of South Carolina:
From the same piece linked above:According to a campus publication the Daily Gamecock, the event included a pizza dinner followed by viewing and analysis of both gay and straight pornography.
….
The goal of the event was to inform the audience about sexual health for both heterosexual and homosexuals.
Porn doesn’t promote sexual health, for one. Clearly, these students haven’t read about the HIV outbreak amongst porn actors in Los Angeles, prompting urgency in the consideration of a California bill to require every male porn actor to wear a condom.Read the whole thing here.
....
In fact, pornography does the opposite. The industry takes a sacred act, one that intimately joins a man and a woman emotionally and physically, and degrades it to a level of banal studio recreation.
Porn should never be used as education; it is not even art. It is a degrading, primal show of stimulating acts for the purpose of hedonistic lust. It serves no purpose other than temporary stimulation.
