It is impossible to overstate how excited we are about George Washington's Inaugural Bible coming to town. Cahnman's Musings would love to attend without controversy. Unfortunately, the Daily Texan used this joyous occasion as an excuse to push Bill Powers' dishonest anti-Christian agenda:
As a resident of Central Austin I am grateful to the University of Texas for bringing George Washington's Inaugural Bible to town. I am likewise grateful to the Daily Texan for informing me of this event. Friday's Article "George Washington Inaugural Bible on display at LBJ library Monday" makes the argument for the Daily Texan's continued existence better than I ever could.-----
That being said, this statement from 'history professor' Henry Brands cannot stand:
“It is interesting because George Washington himself was not especially religious,” Brands said. “He believed in a god but not necessary Christ. But he knew most Americans were believing Christians, and knew that this would be important to them.”
Perhaps 'history professor' Henry Brands has never read George Washington's farewell address:
“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.”
Why tell the truth about George Washington when you can advance the bogus narrative that's America's founding fathers were Athiests, Agnostics, and Diests?!?
Sincerely,
Adam Cahn

Creating a personal statement can be an incredibly important task. In many cases it can hurt you much more than it can help you. There have been a lot of debate surrounding the importance of personal statements, because they often are a much larger potential detriment than a potential advantage.
