Milliken's record of shilling for tuition hikes

"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
1 Timothy 6:10

Well...this was not hard to find:
A year ago, the University of Nebraska Board of Regents gave reluctant approval to a 6 percent tuition increase for the 2007-08 academic year, vowing to try to better balance this year’s budget to avoid another sizeable increase.

Friday, the board will set 2008-09 tuition rates.

And despite the board’s intentions, it’s all but fact an increase looms: The budget isn’t yet balanced, and NU President J.B. Milliken has recommended a 6 percent increase.

The recommendation surely will prompt debate among regents, but if past years are any indication, the board is likely to ultimately give Milliken’s recommendation a thumbs-up.
The article goes on to describe various examples of silly spending under Milliken's watch, for which he offered vague excuses combined with opposition to basic cost controls.

Bottom Line: The more things change....
