Will AFP's #RallytoRepeal Launch Another Town Hall August?!?

Tomorrow, Americans for Prosperity will hold their 'Rally for Repeal' in Washington D.C.  It's a good start.  To maximize impact, however, I think AFP needs to carry tomorrow's momentum into the states this August.

I outline the broad vision in my open letter last month.  Without getting repetitive, there's still time for the conservative grassroots to DEMAND the United States Senate vote on repealing Obama's Health Insurance Protection Racket BEFORE November 6 (petition here).  The way we make this happen is by reprising the townhall eruptions of August 2009 in August 2012 inside the states of Senators who voted for this corrupt law that are running this fall (there are 22 of them).

This will lead to 1 of 3 outcomes:
  • They ignore us and don't hold a vote.  This is the most likely outcome.  That's fine; they'll look like cowards.
  • They hold another vote that breaks along party lines.  That's also fine.  The campaign commercials write themselves.
  • They hold another vote and four Senators flip under unrelenting pressure.  That would force Obama to veto repeal a month before the election.  I know it's unlikely, but I don't think it's impossible.
The key is to take this fight into the states.  This would generate local media coverage (I also suspect Crossroads GPS will get in on the action).  If the pressure is local, the relevant Senators won't be able to ignore it, and they MIGHT crack.

With a modest amount of pump priming from AFP I believe that, just like August 2009, this could take on a life of its own....:)

  1. It doesn't need to be said, but I agree with you 100%. People need to get off their butts and into the streets.
