Matt McCall discusses the Debt

"Whoever loves wisdom makes his father rejoice,
But a companion of harlots wastes his wealth."
Proverbs 29:3

Matt McCall discusses the national debt that has increased by a factor of 10 during his 30 year incumbent opponent's time in Congress:

Highlights:
  • "We've been kicking the can down the road for a long time, and if we don't change our ways immediately, all our kids are going to have is an empty can."
  • "We do not have to become Greece."
  • We do not have to be Japan, "with 20 to 30 years of grinding deflation."

Mediterreanian Update Tuesday: When Will Califonia Follow Cyprus?!?

The other day, the tiny Mediterranean nation of Cyprus attempted to confiscate between 7 and 10 percent of all bank deposits in the country.

Considering that the situation in Greece is worse than Cyprus and, at least in some respects, California is worse off than Greece, we wonder how long it will be until someone proposes something similar in California; California has already seriously considered taxing people who move out of state.

Sure, it sounds crazy now, but let this situation unfold for a few more years.

Rumors of War

"Therefore suddenly shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.  These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue...." Proverbs 6:15-17

"As the welfare state collapses, we see the emergence of brute conflict between those who desire order and those who don't." The Invisible Committee, the Coming Insurrection, p. 6

Today, the European Union won the Nobel Peace Prize.  This is bad.  This is an arrogant, prideful move that future historians will mock.

It's not a secret that Europe has been on fire for two years.  Greece is a mess.  Spain is almost as bad.  France is teetering.  Great Britain is crippled by political correctness.  The only thing (barely) holding the situation together is the grace of German taxpayers.  That won't last forever.

Against this backdrop, the European elite chose to hold a self-congratulatory circle jerk award itself the Nobel Peace Prize.

You can't make that up.

This is the type of arrogance you see before major wars.  Suicides are skyrocketing, people are eating trash, yet the leaders are throwing themselves a big party.  Comparisons to Emperor Nero are apt.

The situation in the Middle East gets attention, but Europe is almost as bad.  Nazis are rising in Greece.  The President of France is a Marxist.  When the European house of cards finally collapses, the situation will be dire.  Pray for leadership with discernment.

War is coming; whether we like it or not.

Mediterranean Update Tuesday: Islamists Love Hard-line Leftists

"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness." Genesis 1:26

Well, it's official: anti-American Islamic Supremacist violence has spread to Greece.  Iran's apocalyptic President is meeting with Occupy Wall St, on American soil.  Meanwhile, the leftist government currently in charge of the United States is exploiting this crisis to advance a key component of the Islamic Supremacist agenda.

Chaos is here gang, and things are going to get a whole lot worse before they get better.

Islamists and Hard-line leftists work together because they're both Utopians who seek to radically alter the existing order.  Both Islamists and Hard-line leftists seek to subsume individual autonomy under an all powerful state, the only difference is between atheistic and theocratic tyranny.  Western Judeo-Christian civilization, which believes God created man in His image, threatens both; if God creates you in His image, then other men cannot subsume your rights under their tyranny.

This is nothing new.  Islamists have a long history of working with Hard-line Leftists against civilization.  The early Muslim Brotherhood were big fans of Hitler's leftist government.  Leftists routinely back Palestinian barbarism as some sort of 'resistance' to some non-existent occupation.  Don't get me started on leftist "human rights" lawyers that advance the Islamist agenda.

As much as I disagree with Mitt Romney on certain domestic issues, one thing he does understand is the situation in the Middle East.

Mediterranean Update Tuesday: Greece, Spain, and Internal Islamic Subversion

Mediterranean Update Tuesday kicks off this week with the IMF suspending its Greek bailout.  Spain is also looking worse.  The Chaos about which we speculated in February might be rearing its ugly head.

Cahnman's Musings will continue to monitor the economic clusterfornication in Southern Europe.  In the meantime, I want to comment on a domestic controversy that will impact U.S. policy in the region.

On June 13, five conservative members of Congress sent letters to the Inspectors General of five federal departments.  The letters, based on credible reports of Muslim Brotherhood infiltration of the U.S. government during the Bush (2nd term) and Obama administrations, inquired about the efforts the government was making to get to the bottom of the controversy.

The letters were met with silence until last week, when John McCain threw a hissy fit on the floor of the United States Senate over one aspect of the controversy.  In so doing, Sen McCain called the questions "nonspecific and unsubstantiated," a claim directly contradicted by the text of the original letter.  Shortly after Sen. McCain's hissy fit, House Speaker John Bohener followed suit.

(Author's note: You can see the original letters here; this 16-page letter from Congresswoman Bachmann alone outlines the controversy)

This controversy offers a unique opportunity to set the historical record straight about communist subversion in the 1940's and 50's.  In the 1940's and 50's, the Roosevelt and Truman administrations were infested with Soviet agents; Alger Hiss being the most prominent.  Strong circumstantial evidence suggests something similar with the Muslim Brotherhood today.  We need to get to the bottom of this controversy.  No hissy fit from John McCain or John Bohener will stop us.

We voted for Michelle Bachmann in the Presidential Primary and we re-affirm our vote today.  We stand unapologetically and unconditionally with the five conservative Congressmen calling for these investigations.  We urge our readers to contact their Congressmen and support the five conservatives.

Contact Speaker John Bohener here.

Contact John McCain here.

Mediterranean Update Tuesday: It's all About God

Last Tuesday, I issued an update on the situation in the Mediterranean zone of chaos.  I was thinking about making this a regular feature.  Events over the past 48 hours definitely merit comment.

On Sunday, in the do-over elections, Greece stepped back from the brink.  Greek voters gave the pro-European party a solid, though not overwhelming, victory.  While we're nowhere near out of the woods, this does buy us some time.  A fragile consensus might exist that economic reform, as painful as it might be, beats the chaos that would follow a Greek exit from the Eurozone.  It definitely beats having Nazi's and Communists take power.

I'd barely exhaled over Greece, when this headline about Russia collaborating with Syria came out.  For those of you unaware, Russian collaboration with Israel's enemies 'to the north' is a MAJOR BIBLICAL PROPHESY.  Obviously, we don't know when the end is going to arrive, but when the news of the day reports that Russian Military assets are positioned on Syrian Territory where Iranian proxies can attack Israel, I take notice.  I spent some time yesterday making sure I was ready for the end of the end.  Then, all of a sudden, the Russian ship turned back.

(Sidenote: In the realm of Earthly Geopolitics, Vladmir Putin's utter contempt for Barack Obama must also be noted.)

So, what does this mean?!?

I know some people are going to say I'm crazy for writing this, but I think we've seen two major acts of Divine Protection in the past 48 hours.  I've seen God at work in my own life lately, and I've suspected we'd see His hand in World Affairs.  The Scriptures are clear that He will warn us before the end, and I can't shake the feeling that these were two of those warnings.  Even if one accepts earthly explanations for these events, the fact that Greek voters and British insurance companies are acting courageously is miraculous by itself.  But I don't accept Earthly explanations.

It's easy to get caught up in the affairs of the world and lose perspective.  That's why it's important to check ourselves and make sure we keep Him first.  With God, we can accomplish anything; without Him, we can't do squat.

If I were a Pastor, this is where I'd do the invitation; since I'm not, I'll send you here:

Update (6/20/2012): The Greeks are now paying their back taxes; do you believe in Miracles?!?

Update from the Mediterranean Zone

In the past few days, we've seen significant developments in the Mediterranean Zone of Chaos.  It's a giant cluster-you-know-what, but in the past week we've seen:

Stay tuned, this ain't gonna be boring!!!

America is Wisconsin; not Greece

Amid the celebration of Governor Scott Walker's decisive victory last night, one lesson stands out clearly: America is still America, we haven't become Greece.

Since Barack Obama was elected, and since the number of takers has inched ever closer to the number of makers, existential questions have been asked.  Can the American people restore the Constitutional Republic of our foundation, or will we succumb to what Mark Steyn calls extremely seductive incremental decline?!?  Last night, the voters of Wisconsin gave their answer.

In 2010, Governor Scott Walker campaigned on Restoring Economic Growth, Balancing the Budget, and Not Raising Taxes.  Collective Bargaining Reform is a natural component of that agenda.  Collective Bargaining Reform discredited the corrupt shibboleths upon which the left is built, thus they threw every thuggish tactic in their arsenal at Governor Walker.  The failed.  Wisconsinites affirmed budgetary reforms and thumbed their noses at the Unions.

Contrast last night is Wisconsin with the ongoing chaos in Greece.  Where Wisconsinites chose prudent budgetary reforms, Greeks threw a violent hissy fit.  Where Wisconsinites re-affirmed a courageous politician, Greeks elected Nazi's.  Wisconsin has a future, Greece does not.

Last night, Wisconsin voters sent a message to the world.  Is America done?!?  Not yet, NOT BY A LONG SHOT....
