Texas State Appeases Mob; ABBOTT REMAINS SILENT (Likewise Texas Senate)

"Therefore by their fruits ye shall know them."
Matthew 7:20

On Friday we discussed the farce at Texas State University.  Well, it's over.  The crazies won.

And they got everything they wanted.

If you can stand to stomach it, you can read the University President's letter of surrender here.

Texans have every right to be livid.  Following the lawless actions of a university bureaucrat making over $169k, a group of students took over a building.  Then the university gave them everything they wanted.  All this in an allegedly "conservative" state.

We've said it before, but it bears repeating: The Board of Regents can stop this nonsense.  And if the Board of Regents fails to act, the Governor who appoints them can step up.  But Texas' allegedly "conservative" Governor hasn't said a peep.

Also: Wouldn't it be nice if the Texas Senate would stop rubber stamping Regent nominees?!?

Bottom Line: Texas' public universities are a state agency.  If he were to choose to use it, the Governor has jurisdiction.  But why actually do the job to which you were elected when you can sell paranoid fantasies about George Soros on Fox News?!?

#TXLEGE: Thoughts on #SINEDIE (take 2)....

"For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God."
Romans 8:19

We're still digesting the past 24 hours, but a few observations in no particular order:
  • 83 Republican house members showed up to today's caucus meeting.  That's a heck of a lot more than we expected.  We were also pleasantly surprised by the length of the meeting.
  • Joe Straus personally showing up is an admission that all is not well in the Republican caucus.
  • There was a whole bunch of traditional media at today's caucus meeting; media interest can only raise the profile of the issue..
  • We're not sure who said it (Jim Graham?!?) but they're absolutely correct: You can't support both Greg Abbott and Joe Straus anymore.
    • At this point, it remains an open question whether Greg Abbott supports Greg Abbott or Joe Straus.
  • The arrogance of house leadership remains a sight to behold: Had they simply shown up for work this morning, they probably could have run out the clock with a fairly typical act of failure theater.  But they just had to jam their thumb in the eye of Abbott, Patrick/the Senate, and the Texas grassroots.  In doing so, they elevated their profile all over again.
    • Note: The only reason we haven't completely given up on Greg Abbott is because the degree to which he's been publicly disrespected essentially demands a response.
  • Apparently, the house Republican caucus has a September retreat scheduled; grassroots activists really ought to crash that party.
    • Note: If the new RPT leadership really wanted to impress this website, they'd convince the caucus make the whole event open to the public.
  • The kumbaya messaging coming out of today's caucus meeting was obnoxious.
  • Abbott said all the right things in today's radio interview.  But Greg Abbott frequently says all the right things.  Its Greg Abbott's follow through that leaves a lot to be desired.
  • Another special session won't accomplish anything right now.
    • Note: But then there's redistricting....
  • Random Thought: We wonder if the Texas Association of Business has ever taken any money from George Soros?!?
    • cc: Abbott, Greg
  • We're getting really, really, really sick of the socialized education industrial complex's sense of entitlement....

How Incest Helps Explain Today's Middle East

[Author's Note: This post isn't about the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, but about the events that transpired immediately afterwards.]

"It happened on the next day that the firstborn said to the younger, “Indeed I lay with my father last night; let us make him drink wine tonight also, and you go in and lie with him, that we may preserve the lineage of our father.”  Then they made their father drink wine that night also. And the younger arose and lay with him, and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.

Thus both the daughters of Lot were with child by their father.

....
And the younger, she also bore a son and called his name Ben-Ammi; he is the father of the people of Ammon to this day."

Genesis 19:34-36, 38

"The shameful act of incest led to the births of two sons who would later greatly trouble Israel, Moab and Ben-Ammi."

Nelson Study Bible, Note on Genesis 19:36-38

This morning, we read the scripture and note quoted above.  It bugged us.  Why did the name Ben-Ami sound so familiar?!?

Then it hit us: Jeremy Ben-Ami.

Who is Jeremy Ben-Ami?!?
Jeremy Ben-Ami is the founder and President of J Street.
And who, pray tell, is J-Street?!?
J Street is the political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans fighting for the future of Israel as the democratic homeland of the Jewish people. We believe that Israel’s Jewish and democratic character depend on a two-state solution, resulting in a Palestinian state living alongside Israel in peace and security.

Rooted in our commitment to Jewish and democratic values, J Street is redefining what it means to be pro-Israel in America. We are changing the U.S. political dynamics around Israel by mobilizing broad support for a two-state solution because it’s in Israel’s and America’s interest. And we are expanding support for Israel by affirming — along with many Israelis — that being pro-Israel doesn’t require supporting every policy of its government.

We have the responsibility to fix the broken politics in America around Israel. Only with your help can J Street succeed in our fight for the future of Israel as the Jewish and democratic homeland.
[Author's Note: J-street is heavily financed by George Soros; they're also buddy-buddy with the Obama administration.]

In other words, the leading Jewish advocate for a "Palestinian" state in the U.S. is a descendent of a shameful act of drunken Biblical incest.

Just seems fitting....

The Utter Collapse of Texas Democrats: On Steve Mostyn and the Federalists circa 1815

For about two years, I've heard rumors around Austin that Texas Democrats are on the verge of long-term catastrophic collapse.  While there are many reasons for this situation, the Obama administration's total, probably criminal, and potentially treasonous failure to secure our border is the primary reason.  I've briefly addressed this before, and occasionally a new piece of evidence pops up that needs to be acknowledged.

Yesterday, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility published a blog post that contained the following gem:
For at least a decade, Texas trial lawyers have underwritten the activities of the liberal, grow-government crowd. With the influence of the Democratic Party waning even further, the trial lawyers are moving their dollars into key GOP contests around the state.
The blog then goes on catalog several Republican state legislative primaries in which Steve Mostyn has involved himself.  For those of you unaware, Steve Mostyn is the George Soros of Texas.  Much like Soros, Steve Mostyn's ultimate goal is to enact a radical leftist agenda, NOT the Democrat Party.  That Mostyn is astroturfing in Republican primaries instead of attempting to elect Democrats in the General reveals A LOT.

What really struck me, however, was the similarity between what's happening to Texas Democrats right now and what happened to the original Federalist Party during James Madison's second term.  As Larry Schweikart explains in A Patriot's History of the United States:
Politically, the Federalist Party died, its last stalwarts slinking into the Republican opposition and forming a viable new National Republican caucus....In this way they were able to continue to expound Hamilton's program of tariffs, banks, and subsidized industrialism, but do so in a new democratic rhetoric that appealed to the common man. (177)
This is important because I think it foreshadows a technique we're going to see a lot more of in future election cycles.  Democrats are going to be wiped out in 2012.  Once that happens,  I expect to see attempts by the radical left and big business rent-seekers to infiltrate our side.  As long as we're prepared, they won't succeed, but we have to be prepared for this tactic because it's an obvious move for them.

I strongly suspect we're going to see astroturf groups with Conservative sounding names spring up after the election and before the 2013 Legislative Session.

David Dewhurst: The George Pataki of Texas

"Announcer: This is an official warning to all Texas conservatives. Your TV is about to be jammed with political commercials, from politicians you’ve never heard of, making empty promises you’ve heard too many times before. So how do you sort through it all? Don’t just listen to what they say; look at what they’ve done. In the race for U.S. Senate, only one candidate has balanced five budgets without raising taxes, and cut taxes 51 times. It’s Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst. Only one candidate repeatedly cut spending and passed strong pro-life legislation – David Dewhurst."

- David Dewhurst Campaign Radio Ad

As the U.S. Senate race in Texas heats up, I keep hearing this radio ad from Lt. Governor/U.S. Senate candidate David Dewhurst.  The ad, has aired the past few days on Glenn and Rush's radio shows, is bullcrap; Lt. Governor Dewhurst is claiming credit he does not deserve for Governor Rick Perry's record.  As Lt. Governor, David Dewhurst has led on nothing and obstructed much.

I want to draw a simple analogy for east coast political reporters: David Dewhurst is the George Pataki of Texas politics.  Pataki, the former governor of New York State, is best known for claiming credit for Rudy Giuliani's record.  As someone with roots in both New York and Texas, I can attest to the parallels.

It's an open secret in Austin that Dewhurst and Pataki are good friends.  Indeed, I first met Dewhurst at a 2010 event he did WITH Pataki.  The level of contempt David Dewhurst and George Pataki hold for regular people is palpable.

The best way to understand David Dewhurst and George Pataki is to look at their respective records' when Rick Perry and Rudy Giulani are taken out of the picture.  Between 2003 and 2006, Dewhurst repeatedly advocated increasing taxes.  In 2011, Dewhurst was all over the place regarding Texas' rainy day fund.  George Pataki's record as Governor of New York was similarly atrocious.  These are only a few examples.

Some people get into politics for principle, most get in for power.  Rick Perry and Rudy Giulani are courageous reformers; David Dewhurst and George Pataki were crony capitalists in the right place at the right time.  Rick Perry and Rudy Giulani have taken on special interests and won; David Dewhurst and George Pataki have cut deals with those special interests.  If you can't resist special interests in Austin, what makes you think you can resist them in Washington D.C.?!?

Based on his pathetic record David Dewhust does not belong anywhere near the U.S. Senate, but the character issues revealed by his willingness to claim credit for Rick Perry's accomplishments takes the cake....

How Obama Can't Win and Wants Chaos -- The Strategic Petroleum Reserve

It's been clear to me for some time that Barack Obama can't win, he knows he can't win, and he's deliberately sowing chaos along with the Hard Left to prevent his successor (Hint: This Guy) from unwinding his previous legislative 'accomplishments.'.

People don't necessarily agree that Obama can't win, and I'm going to catalog the reasons why at some point soon.  I've already sat down to do this, but it's a MAJOR undertaking and it's going to take some time to do it right.  I ask for your patience.

In the meantime, just today we had an example of an action coming out of the Obama administration that makes zero sense from the perspective of winning an election, but makes all the sense in the world from the perspective of chaos and crony capitalism.

Today, you had the Obama White House leak that they would release oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve followed almost immediately by a retraction.

This makes ZERO sense from the perspective of winning an election; consider...

1) Voters know it's a gimmick, releasing SPR oil never lowers prices.
2) Even if you think the voters are stupid, you wouldn't do it 8 months before the election
3) You wouldn't release the information this clumsily; releasing this information this clumsily both creates uncertainty in financial markets AND it makes your campaign look inept.

If, on the other hand, your goal isn't re-election, but chaos, this begins to make sense.  I don't pretend to have access to any inside information about Obama's real motives, but consider:

1) Market Uncertainty gives Crony Socialist insiders opportunities to make oodles of money.
2) There was Major Uncertainty Over Energy leading up to the 2008 crash
3) Market Uncertainty hurts the economy, which makes sense if you want people on Food Stamps and prepared to riot if your successor tries to cut food stamps next year.

Again, doing this move this clumsily makes no sense from the perspective of winning an election, but makes all kinds of sense from the perspective of Creating Chaos and Crony Capitalism.

Financial Terrorism, the 2008 Crash, and the Coming Chaos‏

I finished Kevin Freeman's Secret Weapon a couple weeks ago.  I highly recommend it if you're interested in knowing what really happened in 2008 and how the same folks are setting us up for an even bigger attack later this year soon.  The short version: the 2008 crash was a coordinated financial attack on the United States by foreign enemies.

First things first, everything we know about the 2008 crash is still true; it's just that the collapse of the housing bubble didn't cause the crash, the bubble bursting merely left us vulnerable to an attack from foreigners.  Essentially, our government forced our banks to make loans to people who couldn't pay them back, then dumped those loans into Fannie and Freddie, which then left all sorts of folks over leveraged when the you know what hit the fan.  That's when the foreign involvement comes in.

The Cliff's notes version follows: using Naked Short Selling (short selling without ever borrowing, let alone Owning, the underlying asset), Credit Default Swaps, and the Wall Street herd mentality/group think foreign entities launched bear raids (spreading rumors to undermine confidence in a company) to attack first Bear Stearns, then Fannie and Freddie, then Lehman in order to collapse the U.S. Stock Market and Economy.

To put it mildly, they succeeded.

This leaves some obvious questions, the first one being 'who is they?'  The short version is that we don't know, these financial transactions occur behind a veil of secrecy that us rubes in flyover country aren't supposed to penetrate.  The longer, and probably more accurate, version is that strong circumstantial evidence suggests it was a combination of the ChiComs and various Muzzie groups in the Middle East and Gulf.  It seems safe to guess that the usual suspects between the various Leftist (incl. Putin, the ChiComs, and Soros), Islamist, and Drug Cartel groups worked together in some form.

Next, have we addressed our vulnerabilities since 2008?!?  Good Grief no, we've only made them worse.  Part of the purpose of the 2008 attack was to get the U.S. govt. and Fed to spend massive amounts of money to bail out the various institutions attacked and their various counter parties in order to ruin the balance sheet of the Federal Government and soften the U.S. up for the next attack (which is probably coming this summer).  Think about how much weaker of a position our national balance sheet is in as a result of Obama's spending.  Making matters worse, despite public claims to the contrary, the government has taken ZERO steps to actually fix our underlying vulnerabilities to economic terrorism while it has simultaneously jacked up regulations in just about every other area of the economy.  These jacked up regulations (which, it cannot be emphasized enough, do ZERO to address the underlying causes of the 2008 crash) meanwhile stifle the economic growth that would make another economic terrorist attack at least manageable.

So, what is the next attack?!?  Hard to know for sure in advance, but once Greece inevitably defaults, it will set off a chain reaction of Global Chaos that will provide the perfect backdrop for an invisible attack on the dollar.  The long term objective is to collapse the dollar and replace it as the global reserve currency.

I'll answer questions to the best of my ability, but you're better off just reading the book; you can get through it in about six hours if you're diligent.

I hope this helps.

Update (4/1/2013): Ok, so the crash didn't happen last year; but it's more inevitable than ever.
