Does Bush's "Vandalism" Allegation REALLY add up?!?

"Even a child is known by his deeds,
Whether what he does is pure and right."
Proverbs 20:11

[Note: Open Records Requests have been sent.]

George P. Bush posted this to Twitter the other day:

We didn't give this a lot of thought on Tuesday. It seems plausible, given Austin's well documented recent upsurge in crime.  Our first impression was to keep scrolling.

Yesterday, however, we spoke with a source on an unrelated matter.  During the conversation, the source asked whether we were enjoying "George P. Bush as the new Jessie Smolett?!?"  When we were slow to pick up on the reference, this source laid out a hypothesis that Bush staged the whole thing.

Interesting.

At that point, we weren't particularly sold.  But the thought lingered.  Then we saw this report from KVUE:

We also saw this tweet from KVUE:

[Note: There's no way KVUE would have posted this tweet had they not tried to contact Bush through official channels first.]

Here's the thing: If Bush's story is on the level...then why wouldn't he respond to press inquiries.  As long as he's telling the truth, there's nothing but political upside.  He gets to bash the Austin city council on their single most unpopular policy.

But he says nothing.

Which begs a follow up question: What are the odds?!?

Out of all the cars...and all the residents of Austin...it just "happens" to be a statewide elected official whose car gets vandalized.

Furthermore, it just "happens" to be the statewide elected official with the most transparently obvious political ambitions?!?

(Yet no witnesses.)

Maybe...but that's an awfully big coincidence.

To be clear: This is all speculative.  We don't have anything to go on besides a hunch.  That being said, we've had multiple hunches related to George P. Bush pan out in the recent past.

It just seems...convenient.

Bottom Line: The results of the smell test, at least for now, are inconclusive.

Abbott's Higher Ed Mendacity, Senate's Passivity, Produce Predictably Poisonous Fruits....

"Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them."
Matthew 7:20

Did you know that, two days ago, a group of leftist students took over a building at a public university in Texas?!?  Neither did we.  But apparently it started on Wednesday at Texas State.

According to Texas State sources, the alleged transgression stems from the refusal of several incumbent members of the student government  refusing to participate in a Nicholai Yezhov style inquisition designed to grease the skids for their impeachment.

KVUE has details:

At issue were two allegedly "racist" posts the outgoing student body president made on Instagram.  The social media posts gave the usual left-wing suspects a pretext to pursue the president's impeachment.  The impeachment drive was political retaliation for outgoing president's support for basic sanity during an incident last fall.

Unfortunately for the "woke" crowd at Texas State, the president survived the impeachment attempt.  But who needs the rule of law when the bureaucrats are on your side?!?  That's where Dean of Students Margarita Arellano [Note: Making $169,576] enters the picture.

Despite the dismissal of the impeachment attempt, Arellano unilaterally overruled the proscribed authorities.  Out of thin air, Arellano invented a justification for the impeachment to continue.  The show trial was scheduled for this past Wednesday.

On Wednesday, several members of the Texas State student government refused to dignify the inquisition.  By refusing to show up, they denied the event a quorum.  The impeachment failed.

Following the failure of the impeachment, the building takeover began; you can follow events in real time on Twitter here.

-------

There's a lot we can say, but it boils down to this: WHERE THE HELL IS THE BOARD OF REGENTS?!?

You have a Dean at a Public University (making $169k) lawlessly inventing standards for student governance.  You then have lawless trespassing on public property.  Yet the senior leadership of the afore mentioned PUBLIC university appeases the mob.

At this point, it's time for the Board of Regents to step in and restore sanity.

Also, wouldn't it be nice if the Governor who appoints the Board of Regents would weigh in?!?

-------

Wouldn't it also be nice if the Texas Senate would stop passively rubber-stamping University Regent nominations?!?

------

Bottom Line: Imagine a world in which the allegedly "conservative" Governor of an allegedly "conservative" state actually held his appointees to public university Boards accountable for situations like the ongoing mess in San Marcos....

#TXLEGE: Democrats threaten Matt Rinaldi's life as regular session gavels out sine die....

"No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.
Isaiah 54:17

Soo...this happened:

Rindaldi explains further:

Pat Fallon adds context:

Note: Fallon also has a Facebook video of the protests that prompted Rinaldi to call ICE as they repeatedly bragged about being in the country illegally.  Unfortunately, due to formatting issues we can't embed that video on this website.  Fallon's original video can be viewed here.

To be fair, Romero disputes Rinaldi's account.  Readers can learn more about Ramon Romero's relationship with the truth here.  Learn more about Poncho Nevarez's relationship with the truth here.

Bottom Line: Good for Rinaldi (and, seriously, follow the link to those Fallon videos)....

Attempting to further unpack screwy election results....

"Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!"
Psalms 46:10

[Author's Note: This report incorrectly lists the date of the runoff as May 7th.  May 7th is the date LOCAL elections are held. The correct date for the primary runoff  is May 24th.]

KVUE had a excellent report Wednesday night detailing some of the strange results from this latest primary:

Highlights:
  • TCRP denounces Morrow.
  • Brent Webster came in second to Richard Walker, who was listed on the ballot as "Scott Walker."
  • "Statistics favor the first name on a list of two unknowns."
    • Can be worth as much as four points.

Austin startup helps local homeless charity (cost effectively) meet objectives

"So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver."
2 Corinthians 9:7

[Author's Note: Through one of our employers, we've worked with Mobile Loaves for close to three years.  We have consistently found them to be one of the smartest relief and recovery organizations we've ever seen.  While this news report was the first we learned of this particular partnership, it doesn't surprise us in the least to see MLF involved.]

THIS is how that whole civil society thing is supposed to be done:

Highlights:

  • People are expected to begin moving in next April.
  • Donations go to community.
  • You can share with anyone you choose.
See the full KVUE report here.  Learn more about Gridmates here.  Learn more about Mobile Loaves here.

Our KVUE Appearence

"Do not remove the ancient landmark
Which your fathers have set."
Proverbs 22:28

During President Obama's visit the other day, we were interviewed on KVUE, full segment below:

Highlights:

  • "He thinks it's O.K. to come down to Texas to fundraise with some rich fat-cat donors and Hollywood types, yet he doesn't have time to seek out answers or learn first hand about what's going on in terms of the humanitarian and national security crisis on our border."
  • "I would like to see him personally remove a lot of the bureaucratic restrictions on our border patrol agents, get them out there so they're not just doing this gigantic catch and release program,"

Greg Abbott Preempts Barack Obama

"Consider the work of God;
For who can make straight what He has made crooked?"
Ecclesiastes 7:13

Greg Abbott preempted Obama's speech in Austin today; his remarks in full below:

Highlights:

  • "While he's here [Obama], hopefully he will learn why Texas is the best state in the nation to create Jobs."
  • Women are a huge part of Texas' economic success.
  • Texas is #1: "Not because of Barack Obama's policies, but in spite of them."

Austin Media Ignoring Project Veritas' HD-50 Bombshell

On Wednesday, Project Veritas released this third video from the recent Texas investigation.  It revealed an Obamacare operative conspiring to use government data to help elect Celia Israel.  This has major implications for Travis County.

And the response from local Austin media is...nothing:

  • KVUE (Local ABC Affiliate) - Nothing.
  • KXAN (Local NBC Affiliate) - Nothing.
  • KEYE (Local CBS Affiliate) - Nothing.
  • Austin-American Statesman - Nothing.

[Author's Note: Some of these outlets covered the first video, but the third (with the local angle) has gotten nothing.]

Local Austin media often does good work, but their silence (so far) on this HD-50 bombshell is disappointing.

One Texas Clinic Sidesteps Obamacare

One silver lining/unintended consequence of Obamacare is that, by making third-party payment even more cumbersome, stories like this might become more common:

Highlights:
  • It's a cash-only clinic.
  • Not accepting govt. or insurance payment dramatically reduces overhead.
  • Transparent pricing.
  • 19% of Texas physicians no longer accept insurance.
  • Bundling procedures instead of billing line-by-line.

Is Austin Ready for a Spiritual Revival?!?

A fantastic piece from KVUE on Exploring God:

Highlight:
A remarkable 342 Central Texas churches are taking part in a program called Explore God. It started in Austin and is designed to start a healthy debate on religious topics.  The Explore God debate is open not only to all Christian denominations that wish to take part but to people of other faiths and non-believers.
...

Austin-based Explore God traveled worldwide asking theologians, pastors and communicators some of the most asked questions and often difficult questions about God.

...

"Anytime you can bring together 342 churches and 13 denominations, you've got to sit back and say, 'Wow! That's pretty impressive.'"

The Explore God Facebook page has reached more than 76,000 followers in just a few months. Aside from online discussions there will be seven community forums that will examine the questions. Beginning September 8, pastors will use their Sunday sermons to examine the Explore God questions in depth.

KVUE Succeeds where KXAN Fails

KVUE news continues to distinguish itself with, by far, the best coverage of the ongoing AISD bond election; here's their report from last night:

In this report, you will notice that KVUE's Kris Betts, unlike KXAN's Erin Cargile, mentions that AISD is already sitting on a substantial pile of cash; while Betts, regrettably, does not use the $229 million figure (p. 105), at least she discusses how facts belie AISD claims of poverty.

Two and a half cheers for KVUE news; Austin voters would benefit if the rest of the media followed their lead.

Why won't AISD repair broken security cameras?!?

A must watch piece from KVUE Defenders details AISD's failure to replace broken security cameras at dozens of schools across Austin:

Highlights:
  • Cameras "often take a month or more to replace."
  • This Eric Mendez guy is making very lame excuses.
Bottom Line: If it takes AISD over a month to replace a $200 camera, then their logistics and procurement systems need structural repair.  Pouring another Billion dollars into this broken, top-down, system won't fix a thing.  Let's slow this process down, vote AGAINST AISD Props. 1-4.
