"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 8:32
John H. Reagan State Office Building -- An hour ago, Cahnman's Musings and Tony McDonald from Empower Texans attempted to cover the proceedings of the Texas House Committee on State Affairs. At issue was Joe Straus' attempt to bring Obama IRS-style laws to Texas. We were met with the sign pictured above outside the hearing room, which was placed on the orders of committee chair Bryon Cook.
Making matters better, in typical Straus lackey fashion, Cook refused to allow the organizations impacted by this new law to testify at the hearing:
Tony entered the committee room to take a picture of the invited media and was instantly thrown out of the room by an over-sized state employee:
In house legal counsel for @EmpowerTexans, @TweetTonyMac, not allowed in the room where #txlege is considering how to curtail the 1st Amemd.

In their attempt to bring Obama style speech restrictions to Texas, Byron Cook (and Joe Straus) refused to allow citizen journalists to record their 'hearing'; more on this shortly....
