Austin Urban Rail: The most predictable disaster since Obamacare

"Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me"
Ezekiel 3:17

Having had a few days to digest the ridiculous urban rail proposal Austin's transportation "superiors" put out last week, one thought stands out: this whole process reminds us of how the Feds passed Obamacare.

In both situations, they took something that's a genuine problem (high health care costs/traffic congestion) and proposed a ridiculously expensive and unworkable psuedo-'solution' that actually makes the original problem worse.

But it gets better.

Beyond the expense and predictable disruption, rail advocates are citing the fact that Obama's paying for half (for now) of the project as some sort of argument in favor of the project.  In other words, they want to work with the people who gave us HealthCare.gov.  And that's an argument in favor of the project?!?

Obamacare has been a disaster.  Urban rail will be a similar disaster on a similar scale.  Unfortunately, they shoved the former down our throats and the American people didn't seem to care; time will tell regarding Austin Urban rail.
